  • Fenugreek or Methi leaves may be included in diet. Also, as a home remedy, the seeds of fenugreek can be soaked night long in a glass of water. You need to take this water on an empty stomach.
  • This herb purifies blood and also is immensely beneficial for the patients suffering from diabetes.
  • Shilajit or Black Bitumen or called as the Mineral pitch that oozes out of the rocks of the Himalayas in the form of a liquid, is another useful drug of choice used in Ayurveda.
  • Shilajit is believed to be supportive in lowering A1C levels and it prominently supports the pancreas in keeping diabetes at bay.
  • Fresh juice of Amla (Indian Gooseberry) proves beneficial when taken on an empty stomach.

 

Lifestyle Recommendations

  • Whereas maintaining a controlled diet pattern which is low in starches and sugars is essential, everyday exercise schedule in form of brisk walk in fresh air for one hour.
  • Also, practicing and undergoing yoga poses and deep breathing techniques called Pranayama would be of good help.
  • Some of the suggested Yoga asanas or yoga poses are –  Dhanurasana, Shavasana, Paschimottanasana, Yogamudra, Sarvaangasana and Utaanpadasana. 
  • Sedentary lifestyle and sleeping during the day time is to be restricted and an active life is rather imperative.
