  2. Also, do note that the mud needs to preferably be taken from approx. three to four feet depth from the surface of the earth.
  3. This means when you take to Mud therapy, you need to be aware that prior to use, mud needs to be nicely washed, cleansed and filtered.
  4. It would be better kept immersed in water for at least twelve hours.
  5. Try to acknowledge that there is less or no contamination of stone pieces or chemical manures etc. in the mud.
  6. It is also advised that the mud should be dried, powdered and sieved before-hand to separate stones, grass particles and other impurities.

But Care Is needed

Although using mud could eventually be a great support for you as preventive as well as curative therapy, but some care is needed in using the same. Naturopathy recommends mud-packs, mud massage, mud-bathing i.e. bathing while scrubbing the skin along with mud instead of soap and assortment of other utilities of mud, yet it is also suggested that you just keep some careful tips in mind.

  • You need to be aware that the mud that is being used has been before hand properly cleaned and filtered.
  • And, it would work better if the mud is also kept immersed in water for at least twelve hours.
  • You need to apply the Mud pack on your body only for twenty to thirty minutes approximately.
  • Also, take care that the mud pack once used should not be re-used.
  • You should also know that when the mud pack that is being applied onto the sensitive parts of the body like the eyes, mud does not enter your eyes.
  • Taking some extra heed in this case is necessary as this may cause irritation and watering of the eyes.
  • Also, in case the mud pack is being applied in cold weather, you would need to place a blanket over the mud pack and cover the body as well.
