1. For relief from the malady of common cold, as a natural cure, you may ground approx. 6 grams of garlic along with equal quantities of Gur (jaggery). This natural herb mixture is to be taken at bedtime.

2. Running nose is an obvious symptom of the common cold. As a home remedy, you may get relief with steam inhalation from burning a piece of the herb turmeric.

3. Sore throats are another frequent manifestation of the common cold. Ayurveda recommends gargling with warm water together with a pinch of alum added to it, two to four times a day.

4. For relief from nasal blockages associated with the common cold, you may grind together black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and black cumin seeds in equal parts. You then need to sniff this herb powder.

5. Another Ayurveda herb remedy using natural herbs is to mix 5 to 10 ml juice extracted from the betel leaf along with freshly grounded herbs of basil, mint and ginger. Add about two to four grounded pepper corns to the paste. You may take this mixture of natural herbs twice a day.

6. Ayurveda herbs come handy with another home remedy for common cold. You can prepare a decoction with natural herbs of ginger, basil and pepper. Take this decoction (preferably warm) twice a day mixed with half to one teaspoon of honey.
