This is because the natural property of Ghee enriches Satva i.e. peaceful and calm mind, aids the process of elimination & assimilation, lubrication, digestion, balances Vata and Pitta doshas (and also the Kapha dosha when taken in little or moderate quantities). Also ghee plays an important role in cleansing toxins and actively boosts ojas, agni, semen and lymph. Finally the Modern science validates this truth that Ayurveda has been supporting for thousands of years that Ghee is nectar that is essential for the body, mind and soul.
 Ghee for the Body
Ayurveda encourages the intake of pure ghee because of its excellent digestive nature and its property of being absorbed directly by the liver, just like carbohydrates and then being burnt directly as energy. Athletes, over the ages, have used ghee as a reliable energy booster and this energy aids the burning of other fats in the body to help in losing weight.
Ghee is excellent in taste and is ideal for cooking as it has a high smoke point so it does not break into radicals unlike other oils.  It’s an extremely healthy food being rich in vitamins A, D, E, K2 & antioxidant CLA (conjugated linoleum acid). For people suffering from lactose or casein intolerance, ghee does not cause dairy allergies as the milk solids and impurities get removed while making ghee from butter. Not only this, being rich in fatty acids and butyric acid, it promotes the development of HDL.
Ghee for Ayurveda Panchakarma Treatments
In the Ayurveda Panchakarma treatments of detoxification and overhauling the body, Ghee is considered as one of the key ingredients. This is generally used for providing the necessary oleation and lubrication during the thorough detoxification of the body by the means of one of the basic Panchakarmas called as Virechana or the purgation therapy. For this purpose, ghee which is the necessary ingredient of Snehapana karma is to be taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. The ghee helps to soften the tissues for detox, and utilizes mobilized stored fat to be burned as fuel. Ayurvedic treatments use ghee because of its innate qualities to balance and harmonise the human body. Expert Ayurveda therapists use ghee as a carrier substance for various Ayurvedic medicines.
Also, owing to its sweet taste, ghee has a laxative and diuretic effect that helps eliminating waste products from the body and its oily nature ensures the downward movement of vata dosha, aiding the lubrication of digestive tract and reduces bowel hardness and flatulence in the body.  Its laxative and oily nature is extremely useful during pregnancy, aiding in delivery by softening the body during birth.
Ghee For Your Health And Wisdom!
The health, strength and quality of the human body is dependent on having good agni. Thus comes the most benefit of Ghee because of its role to increase the body’s ability to absorb food (agni) without aggravating Pitta dosha and balancing different kinds of agni in the body, is extremely vital for preventive health in Ayurveda.
Ghee’s nutritional and cooling qualities act as a pacifier and create a balancing effect on the Vata-Pitta disturbances in the body which are responsible for causing diseases. Ayurvedic beauty swears by the many skin-friendly characteristics of ghee and uses it lavishly to treat burns as it’s known to prevent or reduce the formation of blisters and scars.
Ghee as Rasayana or Rejuvenation Therapy
Ayurveda believes that the Ghee strengthens Agni (the basic digesting power) and thus creating an outstanding basis for healthy nutrition. It is therefore considered as Rasayana in Ayurveda which means a natural rejuvenator as it is known to have cell regeneration tendencies.  Consuming ghee is like having a combination of prebiotics, fibre and probiotics leading to a healthy digestive tract that produces killer T cells in the gut to fight diseases like ulcerative colitis, cancer and bowel inflammations.
