What Ayurveda implies
As per Ayurveda, the state of physical as well as mental health can be derived only when tridoshas or the three body humors viz. air, fire and phlegm are in balanced states. Therefore, in accordance with the natural properties that the seven colours hold, the aggravated humors may be alleviated by use of colour therapy.
  • Pitta dosha or the fire body humor can be relieved by the use of the three cool colours viz. blue, indigo and violet colours.

  • Using yellow, orange and red colours can alleviate Kapha or phlegm. This is mainly because phlegm being cold in potency gets balanced by the use of warm or hot overtones of these three colours.

  • Vata dosha or the Air body humor may be decreased by the green colour.
