Ayurveda Micro Blog

The ancient Science of Ayurveda suggests some simple and rather practical solutions to increase the agni in our body, thus allowing weight loss, an improved metabolism and a stronger overall immunity. By carefully observing what we eat and exactly how we eat, we can rid ourselves of various un-comforting day-to-day maladies.

  • Sip on warm water throughout the day. Even a lightly brewed ginger tea, had with or after the meals, is beneficial as it prevents gas, bloating and cramps, by actually relaxing the muscles of the intestines.

  • Aptly known to be a ‘universal remedy’, having a teaspoon of the magical herb of Ginger with a few drops of lemon juice and few pinches of black salt before a full meal activates our salivary glands, stimulated the appetite and thus helps in digesting the right nutrients and supports absorption.

  • Try and take in the aroma and the taste of the food you are eating, and as far as possible, eat only freshly prepared food which is principally light, warm an unctuous.

  • Try eating once you’ve comfortably seated yourself, and in a calm environment. Also, eat at a moderate pace, and really chew before you gulp in – this does half the job of our digestive system or agni for us.
