Ayurveda Micro Blog
Ayurveda endorses holistic wellbeing, and although Ayurveda does not suggest giving up on a non-vegetarian diet altogether, it does however encourage veganism. Vegan diet fits perfectly into an Ayurvedic lifestyle because of its various ethical values. Research suggests that vegans tend to live longer, have a relatively higher bone density and face lesser chances of suffering from severe diseases like cancer in future. A vegan diet includes sufficient amount of nutritional elements required by our body and high roughage contents including natural fiber. It also increases our body’s resistance to fight various diseases. Since prevention is always better than cure, Ayurveda suggests that the best preventive medicines include eating a Satvic diet and practicing a Satvic lifestyle. Since meat is obtained from dead animals, its consumption is considered to enhance the chances of violence and decay. Regular consumption of Satvic food, on the other hand, helps in maintaining good physical, mental and spiritual health, besides bringing a certain amount of positivism and purity in our lives.
